Beyond The Artist’s Way is a powerful, effective, tried and true process of uncovering, recovering and leveraging creative expression in our work, art and lives.

The Artist's Way is a powerful and effective tool for discovering, recovering and fueling our creative work, whether writing, painting, performance or music. It's a 12-week, 12-chapter exploration into our psyches with exercises that reveal our patterns and attitudes about our own abilities, sense of self and reality that we acquired through family, authority figures, and well...from living in the world. The process pokes holes in our assumptions and allows a stronger, more creative and alive version of us to emerge. It reveals our most alive, dynamic, core self and transforms our lives.

The course explores the symbiotic relationship between art and spirituality; its premise is that the presence of a benevolent universe waits to support the artist in her endeavors; the artist simply has to get out of the way and become a channel for the work. Toward this end, exercises uncover a sense of optimism, balance, resilience, perspective and discipline.

Doing this work in a group is highly effective, offering steady support and keeping us accountable to the very transformation that feels both enlivening and unfamiliar.

A morning ritual called Morning Pages has us writing three pages of "stream of consciousness" thoughts; through this process blocks, hidden issues and real solutions are revealed. Artist's Dates give us a form through which to nurture our creative (child) self. In class we share our progress through exercises, conversation and exploration.
