What you'll learn in this cooking techniques class:

Join us for this special wood fired oven class! This class will be taught in our custom oven room, and will be taught using our  three Forno Bravo ovens – in three different sizes.  This will be a full day hands on class  for anyone who already has or is about to buy or build a wood-fired oven.

We’ll use three traditional styles and sizes to demonstrate the full versatility of wood-fired ovens and to give you as complete the possibilities of how to get the best from your own oven and enjoy it fully.

Wood fired ovens are perfect for pizza but can also do so much more. We’ll show you how to use them in many ways :

  • Pizza: making dough, shaping, topping and baking
  • Lamb chops with lemon & fresh oregano and olive oil
  • Steak: Tuscan grilled rib-eyes
  • Vegetarian: Sausage and gorgonzola stuffed portobello mushrooms

  • Dessert: Frutti di Bosco Pizza – Fresh fruit with Creamy Ricotta base 

We know from experience that using your oven to maximum effect takes a little getting used to – this class is designed to pass on all the information we know you need before you purchase or for your existing oven:

  • How the oven works
  • Siting your oven and looking after it
  • What wood to use
  • Lighting and heating the fire
  • Measuring and controlling temperatures
  • Cooking utensils and other equipment

This course is for you if you are –

  • Thinking of buying a wood fired oven and are researching the best type for you
  • Already have an oven and aren’t sure you’re using it correctly  – maybe you can’t get it heated up properly or get the fire going or make anything more than pizza.
  • Have an oven already and want to use it to the full capacity
  • Are building your own oven and want to know how to use it once you’ve completed the build

The class will be a lot of fun, we will have beer and wine available with a combination of demonstration and hands-on learning. We will cook a lot of food during the day and we will be eating all of them as well, so come hungry!

What To Expect: Hands On Class – Oven Room Class 

Our professional Chef’s will teach you the proper techniques to elevate your cooking. You will work in groups with other guests in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors.

  • Work from a recipe that was created for each specific class
  • Wine and beer is for sale during class – sorry no BYOB
  • Work side-by-side with other students to prepare each dish from start to finish
  • This class will be about 6 hours and each student will enjoy a full meal of what you created in class!
  • Cooking classes are conducted in our state of the art Blue Star outfitted demonstration kitchen and each class is led by an experienced chef instructor
  • Students receive a 10% to shop before or after class

Please note that you will be cooking food with a group and you will be on your feet. We kindly request that you tie long hair back and wear closed toed shoes.

Substitutions and Class Format

We reserve the right to substitute ingredients, menus, recipes, chefs and instructors. Unless noted otherwise, all of our classes are hands-on and participatory in style. Our class size is limited and classes are structured to allow each student the opportunity to work closely with the chef in the preparation of dishes and to observe, up-close, the ingredients, tools and techniques used in the making of all dishes. The exception to the hands-on format are classes labeled as “Demonstration” or “Demo” or “Lecture”.

Refund Policy
Should you need to cancel a reservation for any class, you will receive a full refund for any cancellation made four (4) days or more before the class date.

Cancellations made three (3) days or fewer before the class date will be put
on a Cooking Class voucher that can be applied toward a future class, however, no refunds, exchanges or vouchers will be given to changes or
cancellations made on the day of the class or for no shows — without exception.

Reservations are fully transferable and if you are unable to attend a class someone else may attend in your place without notice. Changes and cancellations may be made through emailing [email protected] In the event we cancel a class a full refund will be given.
