Class Description

Description

What you'll learn in this gardening class:

Did tomato plants overtake the carrots in your garden last year? Were the peas just about to be harvested when frost killed them? In this class we will discuss two common garden planning issues - spacing and timing, which can have a big impact on the productivity of your garden.

We will go over:
  • scheduling garden planting around frost dates
  • degree days and short days so a harvest isn't lost to weather
  • plant spacing recommendations for more productive plants
  • and succession planting for continuous harvest.
You will have time and tools to work on your 4'x8' garden plan during the workshop while experienced gardeners will be on site to help you fine-tune and troubleshoot.
