The world is full of distractions for our dogs. This can make training challenging, even frustrating for us, and for our dogs. Yet distractions offer us the best opportunities to strengthen behaviors and teach our dogs to focus IF we know how to introduce distractions in a way that promotes thoughtful choice, builds confidence and is respectful of our individual dogs.
This webinar covers:
- Who Are You? This Elemental Question explores how each dog perceives their world through sensory inputs (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, olfactory) and social interactions
- The Stimulus Gradient The dog trainer’s “mixing board” blends distance, duration and intensity in every situation Distraction Hierarchy Understanding how to use thin slices for productive use of distractions
- Simulations Making your own squirrels! or, seriously, how to simulate real life situations
