What you'll learn in this acting class:

The Accelerated Meisner Program is designed for actors who wish to deepen their craft in an immersive and comprehensive training experience. Spend 10 weeks, three days a week, breaking through your own barriers. 

Lead by Green Shirt Studio co-founders Andrew Gallant and Sommer Austin, you will systematically work through Sanford Meisner’s innovative series of exercises in order to:
  • hone your attention
  • unlock your imagination
  • find emotional freedom
  • reconnect to your instincts
  • get out of your head and into the moment
  • tap into your innate courage
In addition to the fundamental exercises, scene study and monologue work will give you the tools to approach scripts that is dynamic, human and true. The program culminates in a final scene showing showcasing your work for invited guests.

Montrose Brown Line: Walk six blocks East on Montrose until you hit Clark St. We are just north of the intersection of Clark and Montrose on the east side of the street. Wilson Red Line: Head west on Wilson (away from the lake) until you hit Clark St. Take a left on Clark and walk two blocks (heading south). Bus: The Clark bus (#22) and Montrose bus (#78) drop off right outside our front door. Metra: The Ravenswood Metra stop on the Union Pacific / North Line (UP-N) is a 15 minute walk from us. Once you arrive at the stop, walk east on Lawrence, take a right on Clark (heading south) and walk four more blocks. Parking: Metered street parking is available right outside the building on Clark St. Free street parking can often be found on surrounding streets like Montrose, Sunnyside and Dover. Divvy Bike: There is a Divvy station at the southwest corner of Clark and Montrose, less than a block from our front door.
