I hate to give a Bad review because the teacher was a really nice guy. Very enthusiastic and seemed to know his business. This alone pushed my evaluation to 3 stars. It is good to have someone in the business validate that there is great opportunity and to give you some indication and real perspective of what goes on. However, in terms of what I learned , I did not feel like I gained any ground over what I already new. The info could have been found on a 10 minute youtube video. I felt the class should have really introduced people to the apparatus and equipment involved in voice over production. Some examples, why talk about recording software without showing it? Why not show people what a recording booth and equipment look like? But Spend almost $90 to sit on uncomfortable chairs and talk for 4 hours and only get very generalized info. I felt it was an extreme waste of money and time. All I learned was a few resource web sites, and heard some good samples of demo's. I still don't have a clue where to look for work. I could not recommend this class in good faith. Two and a half stars
Overall I enjoyed this class. It provided me with the overview of the (fascinating) industry and a realistic outlook on how I might fit into it. The whole time, though, I felt as if we were being led into signing up for the presenter's class, an outside business. It wasn't overbearing, but was definitely presented and encouraged as an option.
