Garcia is a Teaching Artist at the National Museum of Mexican Art and has also taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His work has been published internationally including publications such as: In these Times, The Black Commentator, and Hoy Newspaper. He has also been nominated for and won several awards and residencies. In 2009 Garcia was chosen “Chicago Artist To Watch” by the Chicago Artist Coalition.
