Few places are as beautiful and inspiring as Yosemite National Park in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains. When it comes to iconic landmarks that define the American West, it is hard not to recall the images of Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, and El Capitan, made famous over the years by photographers such as Ansel Adams and Galen Rowell.
This workshop has been scheduled to coincide with peak fall colors. You’ll have the opportunity to photograph rainbows, waterfalls, wildflowers, and wide-open landscapes at some of Yosemite’s most iconic locations, some of which include the big granite domes of El Capitan, Sentinel Dome, and Half-Dome, and the cascading waters of Yosemite Falls, Bridalveil Falls, and Vernal Falls. We’ll also shoot many other locations on the valley floor, ensuring you’re in the right place during the best lighting conditions.
Outline
Wednesday, September 27th – Meet at 3 PM for an orientation session followed by a group dinner:
Friday, September 29th – start the second full day with an excursion to the giant sequoia trees in Mariposa Grove. Some of the trees in the Grove date back 2,400 years reach sizes of 90 feet in diameter and over 210 feet tall. We’ll spend the remainder of the day capturing images of El Capitan, Three Brothers, and Yosemite Falls in the western/middle section of the Valley Floor.
Saturday, September 30th
