CoHo University: Level 1 Pole Dance Choreography

CoHo University is the FIRST comprehensive Pole Dance Choreography Certification Program with an emphasis on The Art of Pole Dance Choreography and Pole Dance Instruction. The Level 1 Certification is a 4-day: 8 hour Choreography Intensive and 8 hour Instruction Intensive. Dancers will learn how to both teach pole dance movement and choreograph pole dance routines.

Participants will be guided through technique, alignment, safety and muscle engagement techniques to teach pole dance movement properly. The certification will explore a variety of spotting techniques and effective communication methods to improve your instruction, coaching and/or choreography. CoHo University Level 1 Pole Dance Choreography Certification also includes exposure to a varied curriculum, competition training, coaching guidance and career mentorship.

Dancers will receive one-on-one mentorship to develop her/his own certified pole class at The Choreography House and Certified Choreographers will teach one Specialty Workshop at the studio! Following the workshop, select Certified Choreographers will be awarded a 6-month, PAID teaching contract at The Choreography House! In addition, select Certified Choreographers may also be awarded a  performance spot in Girl Next Door - a pole dance soirée!

ABOUT COHO UNIVERSITY

The Choreography House teamed up with a professional sports medicine academy and a cirque choreographer to create the FIRST comprehensive Pole Dance Choreography Certification Program called CoHo University. This program has been in development for over 2 years and combines pole dance with the ancillary components needed to create a successful teaching, coaching and/or performance career in pole.

Our Sport Medicine collaborator is a professional trainer with The LA Rams and brings a unique fitness perspective to the program. Our Cirque mentor brings over 10 years performance and artistic experience with this incredible troupe to make CoHo University truly unique! CoHo University brings next level training to the art of pole to provide an unique professional-development experience.

• 1) Begin Your Performance Career
• Select Certified Choreographers will join the Girl Next Door Housewives, a performance troupe featured at Girl Next Door - a pole dance soirée. Dancers will join the weekly cast rehearsals and work with Director Kelly Yvonne to prepare for show day!
• 2) Begin Your Teaching Career
• Dancers will receive one-on-one mentorship to develop her/his own certified pole class at The Choreography House. Upon completion of the certification, Certified Choreographers will teach their class as a workshop at the studio! Following the workshop, select Certified Choreographers will be awarded a 6-month, PAID teaching contract at the studio!
• 3) Begin Your Choreography Career
• Become a coach! Certified Choreographers will be equipped with the tools to create dynamic pole dance routines for competitions and/or shows. 

PRE-REQUISITES

New Dancers to The Choreography House should complete Beginning Level Pole Dance Workshops 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B prior to registering for CoHo University: Level One Pole Dance Choreography Certification. These workshops are pre-training modules and the content of each workshop is necessary for a successful experience in the choreography training.

PLEASE NOTE :

To complete the certification, Homework Assignments must be completed and a final project submitted after the 4-day training session ends.
