Want to be that person who can bust out an amazing story on the fly, riff off another’s tale in a seemingly spontaneous way or host your own show? Let comedic storyteller and Moth host Corey Rosen share his tips for developing characters, using status, unleashing your imagination through spontaneous story creation and honing your stage presence in performance.
In this four week Online improv storytelling workshop, you’ll learn everything you need to tell loose natural off-the-cuff stories, generate stories rapidly for upcoming Moth or other storytelling show themes. Every session you’ll do fun, improvised storytelling drills, that will help you exploit exciting opportunities in your tales and allow others to help build on your original inspiration. Through fun in class exercises you’ll learn how to say “Yes” to your story possibilities, build a game or structure into your story organically and exploit acting and blocking for comic/dramatic effect. By the end of the class, you’ll have perfected your spontaneous storytelling chops! Before you know it, you’ll join the ranks of the 13 students who won StorySLAMs and 2 who won GrandSLAMs from taking this class.
