Power Pivot and Power BI Desktop: Analytics and Data Visualization
In this three-hour Excel for Windows session, you will learn how to use Excel's free Power Pivot add-in to connect to external data sources, create relational data models and perform powerful data analysis and summarization. Learn the basics of writing Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) to calculate measures and add key performance indicators (KPIs) into your PivotTables. Next, switch to PowerBI Desktop (formerly Power View in Excel) and create stunning reports with interactive data visualizations. Again, connect to multiple data sources, shape the data with queries, and then use a drag-and-drop canvas to create rich, compelling reports, choosing from hundreds of modern data visuals.
Prerequisites
This class is ideally suited for people who have attended our Excel Intermediate 2 and/or Excel PivotTables class and want to take their data analysis and visual reporting skills deeper with the free Power Pivot add-in and free PowerBI Desktop app.

- understand primary and foreign key fields
- determine cardinality of relationship between tables
