  • Writing for Online Blogs, Magazines, and Websites

Hi, It looked like the speaker was well qualified and I looked forward to the session. She is qualified, but the class was not for me. I'm a writer and marketer, and have not done much blog writing lately and wanted a refresher for a new job I will be starting. The session was more for those unfamiliar with the topics. The attendees who did offer to read their work were not writers or experienced, or polished. I stayed for 35 minutes, but the questions asked were so basic I decided to leave the Zoom and spend my time something else. Thanks,

  • Ohara School of Ikebana - Japanese Flower Arrangement

I felt the whole booking experience left us grossly unprepared for the entire class. Confirmation emails didn’t reiterate that course materials were required nor best instructions on how to get to the class, so we arrived 30 minutes late because Google maps put us across campus and we had to ask multiple people how to get to the building. I understand we were significantly late but when we arrived, the instructor did very minimal teaching. Told us to read a piece of paper, which was very confusing without any instruction, and just left us alone so we got started trying to follow the instructions. The instructor then tended to us after about 10-15 minutes and essentially told us we were doing everything incorrectly and why. We then tried our best until we thought we were done. Then the instructor came back and pretty much took our pieces apart and redid it how they would have done it themselves. Overall we left the instructor was a little condescending, we spent an unexpected $55 a person, and learned extremely little. Lastly, the course was booked from 9-11 am but everyone left at 10:00. Really reiterating the fact the course was far from worth it.
