School Notes:
You’ll receive a complete recipe packet and enjoy a full sit-down meal at the end of class with your classmates. Our classes are BYOB, and you are welcome to bring a bottle to share at the sit-down meal.

Our classes are hands-on, coupled with demonstration-style teaching. Everyone is situated at their own cutting board/chef’s knife station around a large wooden worktable that accommodates the whole class (10 people max). We work together as a group, with the chef at the head of the table.

We focus on knife skills, preparing ingredients for cooking, and we strive to find every opportunity to offer you a hands-on experience at the stove and at your station, all within the spacial parameters of a single stove/family-style kitchen. We ask for volunteers to assist in all cooking.

Refund Policy
We have a firm 48-hour cancellation policy to ensure that we have enough time to re-fill your seat with another student. For cancellations prior to the 48-hour mark, we are happy to offer credit for a future class.

While it is not in our nature to say no, we are not able to offer credit/refund for last-minute illnesses or work-related conflicts. However, you are always welcome to send someone in your place, because we understand these things do happen.

Question from Anonymous
This is my first time. Is this course HANDS-ON? In other words, will I be making things or is it more like a demonstration by an instructor?

The Baking Basics

The instructor was very informative and gave tips on several fundamental techniques in baking. However, it was a lot less interactive than I anticipated, as the instructor did 90% of the baking, allowing the students to do a handful of the techniques for short time. I enjoyed it, but in my opinion, it was not a great value for the price.

My daughter and I liked this class a lot. Instructor was great! We just wished we could do everything by ourselves not just watching. But overall experience was very good anyway!

I joined Erica for the basking basic class last night - and I have to say it exceeded all expectations. Erica was so fun, easy going, and knowledgeable. We were lucky and there were only 4 of us in the class, so we got a lot of attention! Erica took the time to explain the science behind everything we were doing - along with many Great British Bake Off references. She baked a bread baguette for us that we ate during the class with lashings of butter. And we made a fruit pie each, one large chocolate torte, and multiple cream puffs. All of which were divvied up to take home. All of them were delicious and I am keen to practice it all at home now. We all got a chance to practice the techniques that Erica taught.. I really recommend this class, and would be very keen to join Erica for any others that she hosts.
