Inspired by the unofficial fourth branch of the United States government, THE PEOPLE will dive into one of the most important factions of any government, the citizens that the government is supposed to serve. Who are we, what do we want, what do we have to say – we will explore it all.
The show will begin with a brief but insightful interview with NWUF president Allison Brzezinski and a very special guest, followed by performances and screenings by our NWUF19 artists, with acts ranging from dance, original music, comedy, short film, spoken word, performance art, and more. Stay tuned for line-up and guest announcements!
Nasty Women Unite Fest is a non-profit multi-day festival amplifying voices that are not often heard in the mainstream media, providing a necessary platform for talented women and trans* artists of all mediums. In addition, the festival incorporates carefully curated talkbacks and resource advocacy, fostering provoking discussion on many issues related to intersectional feminism. All profits are donated to the ACLU, supporting the rights of all people.
*Individuals who identify as women, non-binary, femmes, demi, genderqueer, and more – of all races, ethnicities, ages, abilities and backgrounds, are all considered Nasty Women in our eyes! It’s a concept, not an identifier.
This event is mixed seated and standing room. Seats are first-come, first-served.
