What you'll learn in this tango class:

A breakdown of the basic tango elements will be taught at each class; the embrace, lead and follow, the cross and parallel walk system, weight change in place, ochos, rock step, quarter/half/full turns, sacadas and barridas.

Introduction to the 6, 8 and 10 count walks will also be discussed, so you can start dancing at the milongas after your first lesson. No dance experience or partner necessary.

Recommended footwear - Leather sole shoes (no sneakers).

Do I get to dance with a partner at the beginners class? Also, I would like to know if I can go to a free introduction class?

Hi Marta! For any class, you don’t need a dance partner. For all the beginner classes you don’t need a dance experience or dance partner. We don't have free classes as of this time, but we will post it here once Tango With Jon offers it. Hope this helps!

Hi Marta! The Argentine Tango (Absolute Beginner) class by Tango With Jon has sections running Mondays and Thursdays with open sections from May 31st up to July 30th.
