This class is for students that already know the basics of guitar, some chords and minimal strumming pattern.
These classes will teach you how to play guitar through playing songs and will further develop your picking and strumming patterns as well as ability to read tabs and music notation. You will learn lead guitar parts along with rhythm as well as basic blues progressions and scales commonly used in rock. You will be taught songs by artists such as Jimmy Hendrix, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Adele, Green Day, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, The Beatles and more!
Students are given a score for every song taught in class. At the end of each class students are offered to film their instructor playing what was taught in class at a slow tempo and at goal tempo for home practice reference. New York Guitar Academy provides Guitars (Electric and Acoustic) for all students to use during all of their active classes. For home practice, we have an on-site in-studio guitar store that specializes in renting and selling quality instruments. Students will have the opportunity to perform at our biannual student show.
