In this 6-week online class we will study how writers in seclusion and exile have turned their fear and anxiety into creative inspiration. Each week, we will try writing exercises based on fiction writers and poets such as Emily Dickinson, Virginia Woolf, and Marcel Proust. In the weekly chats, we will discuss the week’s exercise and explore the model’s basic technical issues. Chat transcripts are always available to students unable to attend.
This class is open to all, including students new to The Writers Studio and current and past Writers Studio students.
All classes and dates are subject to change and cancellation. We cannot be responsible for providing refunds or offering makeup sessions for classes missed as a result of students’ illnesses, emergencies or events beyond the students’ control. We make every effort to honor these designated times, but there is some variability.
Occasionally, a class may be canceled due to extreme weather conditions or other acts of God. We will make every effort to offer makeup sessions when it is possible, but no refunds will be granted in any case.
