Allison Leaheey

Teaches at Queens Guitar School

Allison is an expert with genres ranging from musical theater to opera to jazz. She began teaching beginning piano students at age fifteen, while expanding her own musical studies to include alto saxophone and voice. Originally from the Midwest, Allison earned her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Iowa before moving to New England to pursue graduate studies at New England Conservatory. She has performed recently with Boston Lyric Opera, Dicapo Opera Theatre, Opera New England, Utah Festival Opera, Opera Providence, and among others. Her roles include Cinderella (Into the Woods), Gretel (Hansel and Gretel), Rose (Bye Bye Birdie), Adele (Die Fledermaus), Lily St. Regis (Annie), Norina (Don Pasquale), Agnes (Gypsy), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Serpina (La Serva Padrona), La Bergère/ La Chauve-Souris (L’Enfant et les Sortileges), Zanita (The Music Man), Don Ettore (La Canterina), and the Dew Fairy (Hansel and Gretel). Ms. Leaheey taught Acting for Singers for New England Conservatory’s Light Opera Club for two years during her time in Boston. In addition, she composes and performs original music, as well as the occasional Queen cover, with her band Airplay. She has been teaching with Queens Guitar School since July 2011.
