3D Me is a photography and art class that introduces kids to the foundational concepts of art, photography, sculpturing, and painting. Students are taught to capture images using advance scanning technology and how to translate scans into 3D data used by 3D printers.
This course explores various ways 3D imaging and printing are used in everyday life covering fields such as arts, fashion, engineering, and medicine, and so much more.
Students learn about the basic principles of design and how computer algorithms are used in design while exploring concepts such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Wireframing, and Photographic Imaging. After printing their 3D models, students will then move on to paint their art while learning about brush strokes and coloring techniques. This project-based course is designed to meet all STEAM requirements and is an ideal choice for any parents looking to teach their kid art without sacrificing science, technology, math, and engineering.
Students learn the following STEAM lessons
Science: Apply the scientific method, explore the 3-dimensional distribution, patterns, and imaging methods.
Technology-Coding: Analyze problems and design algorithms to map a 3D printer using computer-aided technology (CAD).
Engineering: calibration, wireframing and explore engineering principles.
Arts: Colors, patterns, drawing, and creating presentations.
Math: Reason abstractly and explore geometry, polygons, angles, curves, diameter, distance, time, measuring and variables.
Rich Art and Computer Language Activities for vocabulary
Children pick up words fast and we understand this so we ensure our instructors act and speak professionally yet simple enough for kids to begin to familiarize with the terms in art, science and technology very early
Please bring notebooks and pen to take notes during the class.
