Hayley Cutler

Teaches at Joy of Motion Dance Center

Hayley Cutler is a choreographer, dance educator and experimental performer in Washington, DC. She received her BA and MFA in Dance from The George Washington University and a postgraduate diploma from the Laban Conservatory. As founding artistic director of darlingdance (est. 2010), Hayley’s work has been presented in London, Chicago, Boston and throughout her beloved DC at Dance Place, Dance Exchange, The Clarice, Atlas, Jack Guidone, Torpedo Factory, her tiny apartment, bus stops and beyond. Currently, Hayley is on the faculty of Joy of Motion Dance Center and is a freelance teaching artist at various institutions throughout the city. She has previously been on the faculty of The George Washington University Department of Theatre and Dance, Sitar Arts Center and Imagination Stage. As both artist and educator Hayley is most interested in the space between improvisation and aesthetic – the space where composition is born. Her choreography has received funding and recognition from organizations such as Dance Metro DC, The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Washington City Paper, and the Washington Post.
