Michael Rye

Teaches at Dance Bethesda

As an Amatuer dancer, Michael represented Australia since the age of 12 and continued to be a cultural ambassador travelling to many countries for competition. He has won International Championships in Juvenille, Junior, Youth and Adult Categories in both Latin and Standard Championships. He was Captain of the Australian Amateur Team that travelled to Taiwan and Hong Kong.

As a Professional Dancer, Michael credentials are extremely impressive. Licentiate in Ballroom, Latin, Australian New Vogue, Tap and Theater Arts, he holds degrees with Australian National Dance Association, Institute of Dance Masters of Australia, Federal Association of Teachers of Dancing. Michael has held his International Adjudicators Licence and is recognised by the National Dance Council of America and World Dance Council.

Michael has appeared on stage, television, radio and theater performing and promoting Ballroom Dancing around the world. He has appeared in dance shows with World Champions Sir Marcus and Lady Hilton, Luca Baricchi and Amanda Owens, David and Sharon Savoy, Jason Gilkinson and Peta Roby, Jean-Marc Generareux and France Mousseau, Colin and Lenee James.
