Description
Class Level: All levels
Age Requirements: 18 and older
Average Class Size: 8
Teacher: Heather Dawson

What you'll learn in this calligraphy & hand lettering class:

What is “Brush Lettering?” Brush lettering is beautiful hand lettering that looks like calligraphy, but is created with a brush pen rather than a dip pen and ink. Brush pens provide a great way to get started with brush/hand lettering without the messy cleanup of traditional calligraphy.

Heather will teach you how to create beautiful and elegant brush lettering that’s perfect for bullet journaling, invitations, stationery and more. You will learn the basic supplies needed, how to use them and the different strokes that are needed to begin letter forms.

This workshop will give you the basic setup that is essential to continue creating your own personal style of brush/hand lettering.

All supplies provided.

Hand Lettering
Reviewed by Sterling N. on 3/4/2019
I LOVED this class. I'm completely new to handwriting/calligraphy (and not at all an artist) but Heather (the instructor) was INSPIRING, sweet, friendly and a great teacher. She's seriously the most talented person I've ever met. I'm going to practice a lot so maybe someday I'll be good enough to take her more advanced classes! :) I'd highly recommend this class. It's reasonably priced (although if you want to continue what you've learned - you'll still need to buy the tools and materials from Plaza.) But they aren't very much - and it's nice to support a local art store. Heather was awesome! Loved her.

Did a lot of practice which I know is essential. Thought the teacher could have put more individual instruction in it rather than sitting quietly while we copied letters.
