Description

This introductory course is designed specifically for beginners who want to master the fundamentals of figure drawing under the guidance of a classically trained artist. You will develop the skills to draw the human form with confidence and accuracy.

Over the course of the sessions, you will progress through every essential stage of figure drawing. Beginning with gesture drawing and proportional understanding in the first session, you will advance through increasingly sophisticated techniques, culminating in mastering shading and value in later sessions. This structured approach breaks down the complex process of figure drawing into clear, manageable steps, allowing you to build competence and independence in your drawing practice. By the end of the course, you will have completed drawings you can feel genuinely proud of.

Each session includes live instructor demonstrations and individualized feedback on your work, ensuring you receive personalized guidance as you develop your skills.

Important note: Photography is not permitted during model sessions to maintain the privacy and comfort of the posing model.

Materials Required:

Drawing paper in one of these sizes: 9 x 12 inches, 11 x 17 inches, or 18 x 24 inches (Strathmore 400 series is recommended)
Drawing pencils: 2H, H, and HB (Staedtler brand recommended)
Kneaded eraser for soft corrections
Tombow mono eraser with fine point for precision work in detailed areas

Refund Policy

No refund unless the school cancels the class.

No refund or credit for missed sessions (No Exceptions).

No credits unless notified 48 hours ahead of the class.

We do honor change-of-date requests for in-person sketch classes with at least 5 business days' notice and for workshops with 8 business days' notice.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
