Class Description

Description

Many artists find it challenging to work in both analog and digital worlds simultaneously. So, how does one create a consistent digital-to-analog workflow at home, school, or studio?

This workshop is designed to help students bridge this gap through approachable methods. During class, students will learn about basic and advanced image adjustments, their relationship to the histogram, profiling, and how all of these factors translate to the final analog print. Students will practice these techniques using the cyanotype process and create custom digital negative curves to give their prints their desired tonality.

At the end of the workshop, students will leave with prints, negatives, and the confidence to apply these techniques to a variety of other processes on their own.

Prerequisite: Students should have a basic working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop Some basics will be covered, but many techniques require the student to be comfortable with the software.

Students must bring images they wish to work with and a laptop with Adobe Photoshop installed.

Tuition includes $30 material fee.
