Using multimodal approaches to live composition, instructor Eleni Arapoglou will guide participants as they use shapes, fluidity, and stillness in the body as a source of vocal expression and creativity. Participants will work as a group to develop spatial and physical awareness; examine links between body, voice, and breath; and experiment with imagery, rhythm, and form to create improvised sounds.
The workshop adopts practices and methodologies from Action Theater, Gaga movement, Alexander Technique, and Circlesongs. This work helps break patterns and habits we carry that inhibit our intuition in any creative process/performance. We will let the body lead the way, and not the mind! Igniting, embodying and vocalizing our imagination to create music in the moment.
