Description

Application Support Management (ASM) is an employer-driven, skills-building course that prepares students to consult top corporations on technology that will help ensure their continued success using Cognizant's client support and software management services.

By implementing Cognizant's "engagement life cycle stages" into clients' systems, students learn to evaluate, improve and manage their internal framework without disrupting the organization's current operations.

This course builds on students' knowledge, experience and computational thinking skills, and uses ITIL principles to teach them how to work across software, manage business solutions and improve business efficiencies as a consultant and engineer. Students who excel work with Platform’s Career Advancement team who prepare them for career opportunities with the initiative’s employer partners.

Candidates: Ideal candidates will be solution-oriented individuals interested in business processes, product sales, client management and technology applications and systems. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship and be able to travel to the Bronx, NY for training.

Professional experience should include one or more years of business and/or tech experience in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related topic areas and familiarity with the following technologies:
  • Java, .NET, C++, C#, SQL and/or Oracle
  • Web conferencing (WebEx/Hangouts/Skype/GoToMeeting)
  • Android/iOS operating systems
  • Spreadsheets (Excel, Sheets, Numbers)
  • Diagrams/Workflows (Visio/Lucidchart)
  • Word processing (Word)
  • Mail and Agenda (Outlook, Gmail, Office 365)
  • Presentations (PPT, Keynote)
  • Project Management (Agile, Scrum)
