Kalina Bańka

Teaches at Fordham University PCS

Kalina Bańka was born in 1989 in Dąbrowa Górnicza. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass at the Wrocław Academy of Fine Arts. Since 2013, she has been an assistant at the Glass Laboratory in the architecture department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, run by Professor Associate Ryszard Więckowski. She made six individual exhibitions and took part in dozens of glass and painting exhibitions at home and abroad. 

She is a laureate of several national and international competitions in the field of glass, design, graphics, and painting. Her design and artistic activities balance on the border between glass design, graphics, and painting. In her projects, she tries to go beyond the framework of the current perception of glass, often showing traditional techniques in a completely new contemporary context.
