Maria Jose Peñaherrera

Teaches at Easy Español

María José has had 10 years of professional experience in many different areas of communication including, among others, broadcasting, online marketing and teaching English, Spanish language and Hispanic Literature.


She has a B.A. degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Quito with a major in Social Communications and a minor in Comparative Literature; a M.A. from Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar in Communications and New Technologies. 
Before co-founding Easy Español in 2004, María José worked as Web Communications Manager for a major private bank in Quito; taught English as a second language to elementary school children in Quito.She has translated and edited several articles and books including notably the international bestseller "The Secret / The Gratitude Book" - "El Secreto / El libro de la gratitud". 

María José is the Easy Espanol BOOK CLUB  teacher and  the Academic Director of Easy Espanol 4 Kids a pioneering total immersion Spanish program for toddlers and young children in New York.
