What you'll learn in this oil painting class:

Open to all levels, this class will immerse you in the painting process from day one. Students will learn how to select, compose, and paint based on strong design, values, and colors. This wonderful medium allows for extended manipulation and nuances of interpretation.

Required Supplies:

Paints, 37 ml tubes
• Alizarin crimson
• Cadmium red light hue
• Cobalt blue
• Ultramarine blue
• Cadmium yellow light
• Yellow ochre
• Viridian green
• Olive green
• Cerulean blue
• Large tube of Titanium white

• #'s 1, 2, 4, 6 in either "Flats" or "Filberts"
• #4 round brush
• 1" blade palette knife

Canvases, either canvas panels or stretched canvases
• One 6" x 8” and three or four others from the sizes of 8" x 10" , 9" x 12" , and 12" x 16"
**the smaller the work, the quicker we can solve painting problems.
(If you are experienced, please feel free to work larger)

• Gamsol odorless mineral spirits
• 2 jars with lids
• Table top easel
• Paper palette (9" x 12")
• Paper towels and a bag for waste
• Sketch book (8" x 10" or smaller)
• Sm. Masters brush cleaner
• Kneaded eraser
• 4B and 4H pencil
• Masking tape

• Your own photo references to work from for starting points

 • Newspapers or something to use as a drop cloth

Refund Policy
Refund requests must be submitted to [email protected] prior to the program’s start date. The registration fee will be refunded less a 10 percent processing charge.

Fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable on and after the program’s start date. We cannot refund fees requested on or after the start date of a program or for sessions missed due to student illness or other personal situations.

Registration fees for courses grouped and priced as a series will be considered one program and subject to all of the above guidelines. A refund request must be received prior to the start date of the series' first class session and will subsequently cancel your registration in every session of the series. If you choose to re-register for other sessions in the series, the special discount does not apply.
