The class was in a very uncomfortable setting. The instructor started the class over 4 times because of extremely late people walking in. It was disappointing to sit there for 3 hours before even getting a drink. If the additional $25 was for “lab supplies” they were very lacking. Instructor did not have enough supplies for everyone in the class and it was very low quality alcohol by the instructors own admission.

My rating is a 3.5 but I rounded up to 4 stars. Reason being....
1. Very little info on instructor prior to taking the class (a Bio and background would def help with marketing). So I took a chance and was rewarded with a very low class size (this was good for me). I got to ask a bunch of advanced questions and the instructor tailored the class to the level of the participants.
2. Technical: sound kept cutting in and out. A couple people had mic issues etc. Not sure on who's end that falls. Did not receive the link to the course on the website and only after a moderator called me 30min prior to the course to get my email and send me the link. I received the link 5 min before the class started.
3. Instructor: Awesome instructor. Passionate about the subject and very knowledgeable. That being said, I only have a couple issues to "nit pic". Some proper slides with info graphics would help with initial structure before going on to the applications (making these available for download ahead of time would be great). Staying on topic with questions at the end of each topic before moving on. Invest in a digital pen to write on the screen for more legible text and fluid presentation of graphics.
4. Future thoughts: "Stock Options" is an insanely wide subject that cannot be covered in one course. Consider putting together a three part series for beginner, intermediate and advanced topics. A lot of information is available for free on you-tube but nothing beats having a live instructor you can ask questions (even for beginners) and the advanced topics are usually not covered for free and "gurus" charge insane amount of money for their advanced courses. This is where Courshorse would fill a much needed gap between the two educational platforms.

Alison gave me all I needed to know at this time. And she went over and above holding the class for just me and coming to my home because we had trouble connecting online. Larger print visuals would've been good for aging eyes. Appreciated her excellent effort to make this happen.

The tools I used were not working properly, had to wait 15 minutes before they found scissors, and they were not cutting good, saw all my cuts were not straight, they I can take the class over, which I will

Not the best online experience but perhaps the live class is better.

Alison Moran, the Proofreading Instructor for this virtual class was excellent. She gave us examples to practice on, quizzes to test our knowledge, and a PowerPoint full of information to jumpstart our endeavor. She was patient, I never felt rushed, and stayed online until all our questions were answered. I now feel confident updating my resume and knowing where to look for proofreading jobs. Thanks Discovery Center & Alison Moran for offering such a valuable class!

This was such an informative and immersive class. Sarah was able to keep it interactive despite the Zoom aspect and I will say I believe I can do a great reading just from this one class. I would recommend her for any class she offers and hope she continues to do them remotely beyond covid :)
