What you'll learn in this indian cooking class:

Join us as we taste and explore the most popular Indian spices to create recipes steeped in tradition and flavor. Learn the difference between whole spices and ground, coriander versus cumin, as we toast a custom spice blend. Grab a friend and let’s enjoy a spice-filled culinary adventure together!

This menu is vegan. 

COVID-19 Update: We’re excited to welcome you into the kitchen for small group, in-kitchen cooking classes. To protect your health and safety, we follow all CDC sanitation recommendations in addition to our existing stringent cleanliness protocols. Following IDPH guidelines, chef tables are arranged 6’ apart to maintain social distance between registered groups and face covering use is enforced. Bookings are accepted as table reservations. Tables can accommodate up to 6 guests and you will only be sat with those in your registered party. If you plan to register separately from friends or family and would like to be sat together, please let our office know so we can plan accordingly. We appreciate your partnership and commitment.

Refund Policy

Registrations are non-refundable. Cancellation notice must be received by email 48 hours prior to the start time of your event to receive kitchen credit, less a 10% cancellation fee. For multi-day camps and semesters, cancellation notice must be received 48 hours prior to the first day of the registered series to receive credit for the entire series; we are not able to offer partial cancellations or makeup classes for individual sick days that are missed. Kitchen credits expire 6 months from the date of your request. No refunds or kitchen credits will be issued when fewer than 48 hours notice is provided. Taste Buds Kitchen is unable to make exceptions to this policy for scheduling conflicts, last-minute illnesses or no shows. If you cannot attend your event for any reason, you are always welcome to send a friend in your place, and we hope that you do! If you registered via CourseHorse, you must send your cancellation request to [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> within 48-hours of the class start time to receive a credit.

Please note that the confirmation email students receive from CourseHorse is not the official confirmation email from the school, and that students are not guaranteed to be enrolled into the class they’ve registered until they receive the confirmation email from Taste Buds Kitchen.

Are the meals in this class vegan and gluten free?

No meat of any kind was used in preparation of any part of the class I attended. The main course used tofu and chickpeas, and was very tasty. However, I would caution that the samosas and naan did use wheat flour. If you can find the right fit for you, however, I would say the overall experience was very good, very fun.

Hi Johnathan! This class is vegan (dairy-free, vegetarian and egg-free). As for the individual recipes, the Tofu and Chickpea Tikka Masala and Spiced Basmati Rice recipes happen to be gluten-free but the school does use flour both in the Vegan Veggie Samosas and Homemade Naan. So assuming the guest doesn't have a contact allergy, they can participate in the entire menu but just not eat everything.

As the risk of cross-contamination is too great, the school are unable to make individual recipe substitutions to accommodate allergy or dietary restrictions during a public class.

Our group of three had a really nice evening at this class. Amanda was really nice and helpful, and the two other ladies were also nice and helpful. Everything was pre-measured for us, and all our dirty dishes were taken away and washed for us, so how can you go wrong? :) We made quite a few dishes and got to eat them at the end. We were pleasantly surprised knowing that we could make tasty meals on our own after this class.
