Milko started his career in the beverage industry in the early 1990's, first as a server/bartender, evolving to restaurant management positions and eventually a sole proprietor. During the next decade, Milko developed the taste for wine and helped set up several new restaurants, promoting different cuisine and wine programs.
Milko made the transition to wine and spirits sales in the fall of 2000, starting his tenure with Capital Wine and Spirits Company, part of The Charmer-Sunbelt Group. Among his professional achievements at Capital WSC, Milko has successfully completed Charmer-Sunbelt’s signature Apprentice Wine and Spirits, and Journeyman Spirits training programs, passing with honors.
He left Capital WSC to take on a new challenge with The Winebow Group at the end of 2008 and Milko became part of Winebow’s continuous Wine and Spirits Training Program. He had the opportunity to take weekly classes, covering every part of the wine and spirits world, successfully passing each exam that came his way.
During the past 15 years, Milko has had the opportunity to visit many of the world’s award-winning winemaking regions and learn first-hand from some of today's best winemakers - becoming an expert on each region, winerys' common practices, and what makes each winery unique.
As Villa Sandi US Brand Sales Manager, Milko continues to add to his knowledge as he helps develop wine knowledge in others.
