Do you love sourdough but think its beyond your skill set? It’s not! Chef Summer will talk to you about baking terminology and have you making your own delicious bread in no time.
Day 1: Chef Summer will show you how to build your own starter and show you the surprisingly simple steps for creating and maintaining your own starter to take home! You’ll create two classic breads from start to finish!
Day 2: In our second session, our instructor will show you how to incorporate your starter into a variety of breads, from a classic baguette to some of the best scones you’ve ever tasted. Once you you’re feeling more comfortable with the essentials, you’ll look forward to impressing family and friends with your own artisan sourdough creations.
Please Note:No single day enrollments. Class will run about 3 hours each session.
What To Expect: Hands On Class
Work side-by-side with other students to prepare each dish from start to finish
Classes are roughly 2 1/2 hours unless otherwise noted above. Each student will enjoy a tasting of what you created in class
Cooking classes are conducted in our state of the art Blue Star outfitted demonstration kitchen and each class is led by an experienced chef instructor.
Wine, beer and Soft drinks are for sale (sorry, no BYOB)
FOOD ALLERGIES – we can not accommodate gluten free in this class
If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, that we can work around we will PLEASE add any info we may need to know about in your order notes at least 1 day in advance.
Substitutions and Class Format
We reserve the right to substitute ingredients, menus, recipes, chefs and instructors. Unless noted otherwise, all of our classes are hands-on and participatory in style. Our class size is limited and classes are structured to allow each student the opportunity to work closely with the chef in the preparation of dishes and to observe, up-close, the ingredients, tools and techniques used in the making of all dishes. The exception to the hands-on format are classes labeled as “Demonstration” or “Demo” or “Lecture”.
